For parents, this quality of \u201cemotional intelligence\u201d means being aware of your child\u2019s feelings, and being able to empathize, soothe, and guide them. As Dr. Gottman explains in \u201cRaising an Emotionally Intelligent Child\u201d, \u201cgood parenting involves emotion\u201d. The results show that most parents fall into one of two broad categories: those who give their children guidance about the world of emotion and those who don\u2019t.
